OFF!

Of course there’s only one thing to say:
Finally!”
For today is the day.

But putting my primary school attempts at poetry aside, it’s finally here. I’m off to Japan!

Busy as usual this morning, walk dogs, eat breakfast, pack bags…
Ok, so the bags were already packed. Have been for about 3 weeks now. Finishing touches only.
It was raining in Cairns and lots of clouds. I’m expecting a bumpy ride on our way up.

Got to the airport at 9:15am but the check-in didn’t open till half past. Thought it better to wait than line up, regretted that. By 9:27am when I lined up, it had gone from this:

To this:

Both Osaka and Naritia flights were going through check-in, and Narita leaves at 11, so they were pushing them through first. I left the line at 10:30 and breezed through security. Which, to be honest was not even as serious as they say. They didn’t even measure my clear carry-on of gels and liquids.

Inside the terminal is really depressing. There’s a lot of shops closed, and it seems only the duty-free shop is still going.

Walked past this beauty:

Yours for only $13200… Duty-free.

Soggy wraps and a caramel slice for lunch. Only $21, so totally worth it… No fast food chains in the International airport. At least managed to find the water fountain so I didn’t have to pay for water.

The weather forecast says Osaka is sunny with some slight cloud and 18 degrees. So, practically balmy.

Excited
