The bus arrived very late. It was scheduled for 10.20, and it arrived 10.50.
So I had plenty of time to catch my breath after pushing up that hill.
Today was another sunny day. This morning, when I went for my first bath, it said it was 3 degrees. By the time the bus came, it was around 9 degrees, with an actively bright sun blaring into my eyes and making it thay awkward juxtapostion between too cold and too hot. So, yes, i still needed my jacket, but not when stadning or moving in the sun.
Standing at the bus stop watching the cars go by, I was fascinated once again with Japan and their love of small, square cars and big square cars. Not sure it actually helps with parking.
The bus went up from Kurokawa Onsen. As soon as we left the valley, it became so shockingly dry and brown. I think it’s been on fire or something because it really looks bad.

We started climbing another range. The bus’ informative virtual tour said we were at 1000m above sea level. I tried to get snaps, but the same as before I was on the wrong side.

The bus stops from this point on were all mountain rest stops or onsens. Considering the mountains, it is obviously a big hiking area.

From that point, we began to descend down to Yufuin. Got a fair amount of that since I was on the right side.

The range at this point was making me sleepy and queasy (headache) but soon we left the cedar forests and entered Yufuin. A proper town compared to my last stop at Kurokawa.
