Iwato public womens only bath was open this morning. Yesterday it was men’s only. I got out of bed hoping to beat the early crowd.

Weather said it was 3 degrees this morning. That was probably why it was actually nice in the onsen. When I got there, it was already being used by one older lady.

So I finally had to bite the bullet and go nuddy in front of someone else. Though considering how quickly she hopped out after I hopped in, she must have been horrified and wanted to get as fast as she could.

Once again, this was a public bath, so no cameras…. except once the old lady hopped out and left, it was just me by myself. So I snapped a couple of pictures.

I stayed there for about 10mins before I was done boiling. I was hopping out and changing when other women started to arrive. So great timing. After that, I felt like something sweet, so went to the vending machine and got a drink.

Which I think was drinkable strawberry yoghurt.

On a side note, yesterday, when I was foot bathing, I was watching out across the river to what I now know is the Iwato bath. Suddenly, a naked man did a nuddy run across a gap in the screens. From what I know after visiting Iwato, he must have missed the change shelter and gone further than he should have.

Breakfast is at 8 and check out at 10. I’ve been to all the baths, and there’s only so long you can sit in one before it gets too hot. My next connection is 10.20am, and I’ve already lapped Kurokawa (not that things open in japan till around 10 anyway). I might go back to cave bath but otherwise unsure of what to do. I suppose first thing first, breakfast.
