Kokonoe Yume Otsuribashi- Japan’s largest suspension bridge

I’m feeling in a mood to try something different. So, I’m going to attempt an explanation through poetry.

Acrostic

T- Too many stairs to get across to the platform

R- Repeated flashes of cedar forests and logging

A- Another platform to drag my bag up

I- Inside the station are cheaper coin lockers than elsewhere

N- Now We just have to wait for the bus

Haiku

Road follows river

Climb up mountain is windy

People live throughout

Limerick (This one was extra hard, just couldn’t get that rhythm)

The bridge is very long and deep,

Wind blows cold and strong in a sweep,

Careful of my hat,

Sun is glaring at,

Water plumments down, very steep.

Sonnet

Across the bridge were old buildings,

Souvenirs and temples hidden,

Saw the bridge from a deck viewing,

Went to the temple with a strong tradtion

Shirohebi, or white snake it followed,

Got to hold a big girl and little boy,

For good luck was borrowed,

Did quite enjoy,

Back across the bridge now,

A quick lunch of pork cutlet,

Very crispy, but time would not allow,

The bus, I had to get,

To the train just on time,

To Oita by the end of my rhyme,
